The Stop the Bleed program, an initiative by the American College of Surgeons and the Hartford Consensus, equips individuals with skills and tools to recognize life-threatening bleeding and take action in an emergency situation. Just as the general public learns and performs CPR, it's crucial to learn proper bleeding control techniques, including the use of dressings and tourniquets, to effectively save lives.
Intended Audience: This course is open to individuals who may need to provide assistance in a bleeding emergency while waiting for first responders or EMS. It is specifically designed for students with limited or no medical training. Potential students encompass various backgrounds, such as construction workers, farmers, hunters, anglers, outdoor enthusiasts, and anyone aged 13 and above.
