There were several emails about this.

Reminder

All memberships expire on Nov. 30th of each year. (New members who joined after Sept. 01/22 are not affected as their membership expires Nov. 30/23)

If you have not renewed your membership by that date your electronic access card is disabled until your membership is renewed.

You will NOT be able to open the gate.

You have until Feb 28th of the next year to renew without losing your member status, but you can not use the ranges until then.

This has been the case for over a decade.

Members whose cards are deactivated but continue to use the range by walking in etc. will have their membership permanently revoked.

Jan 03/2022 Covid Restrictions

The Ontario Government has released new Covid Restrictions as of January 03/22.

These restrictions do not appear to affect our outdoor activities.

This may be subject to change as things develop.

Big Changes Coming To EOSC

We have some exciting news.

Starting this fall the club is switching over to a RFID tap-style member card that will enable you to sign in and sign out just by tapping the card at the gate.

We are having a new electronic/mechanical access gate installed. No more Combo lock after Dec 1.

This also means that we are not mailing out stickers at renewal this year. The validation stickers will no longer be used.

Everyone will be receiving a new membership card programmed for gate access. You will NOT be able to enter EOSC without your card. (Your member number will remain the same).

We are expecting to receive the new cards some time in NOV and will be sending them out to renewed members at that point.

Be sure to keep your EOSC.CA profile information up to date.

Updates to the gate log in procedure for members and guests will be updated as the system becomes operational.

Covid Passports

EOSC activities are OUTDOORS and a Covid Passport will not be required.

We do not know yet how this will affect New Member Intro Courses.

Partial Range Closure For Event Sat. Aug 28th.

On Saturday August 28th the club will be using multiple bays to host our annual Ladies Day with the CCFR.

The following bays will be occupied for the entire day and not open to member use.

Range 1, Range 4-1, Range 4-2, and the Rifle Range.

We thank you for your understanding while we host this popular and important event.

Covid Update July 16th 2021

Facilities are fully open to guests of members. (As per long-standing guest policies).

Distancing is still required, as are masks when 2 metre distances can not be maintained.

Members and guests residing in the same household are not required to wear masks as it pertains to supervising guests.

Guests are again permitted at the rifle range. Distance barriers will remain in place for now. Masks are required for members/guests not residing in the same household, and for all when distancing can not be maintained.

Covid Update July 01, 2021

In keeping with the latest changes in Ontario's Covid restrictions;

Full guest privileges are restored EXCEPT at the rifle range. The rifle range has different challenges for distancing, but we are reviewing these and will update if changes are made.

Because our guest policy requires direct supervision, masks are required except if the guest is a verifiable member of the same household.

Covid Update June 9th 2021

In compliance with the most recent covid19 controls from June 7th, there is no change to EOSC operations.

The province has changed distancing requirements to 3m.

Our guest policy requires DIRECT supervision of guests. Distancing is contrary to the safe supervision of guests.

For this reason only quests verifiably from the same household will continue to be allowed as distancing is not required.

Competitions will be reviewed when the government opens to stage 2. Until then, competitions are suspended.

Covid Update April 16th, 2021

EOSC is CLOSED as of Saturday April 17th, 2021 due to expanded Covid restrictions as per the government of the Province of Ontario announced on April 16, 2021.

Covid Update April 8th, 2021. Stay At Home Order

The Ontario government has initiated another province-wide lock-down, this time with a "stay at home order".

The Eastern Ontario Health Unit, which is the health organization that EOSC falls under, has returned to RED status.

This is NOT a lock down.

The restrictions listed or changes made do not change anything for EOSC operations at the moment.

Conditions are the same as we listed in the March 19th update.

Update; Ottawa is not in a "lock down".

As well, we are under the regulations of the Eastern Ontario Health Unit, not Ottawa Health. This may help guide you in future.

We are getting a lot of emails and FB msgs asking if "since Ottawa is in lock down, is the club open?"

EOSC is open.

Guests are allowed as per the club's guest policy EXCEPT there are still no guests allowed on the Rifle Range.

January 2021 Covid Lockdown

EOSC remains open to members as per usual.

We can not accommodate guests during the 28 day lock-down that began Jan 14th. Distancing and direct supervision can not be achieved at the same time.

We had a report of By-law driving through the facility so please honour the current directives and avoid gathering of more than 5 people.

There is a $15 000 fine for violating directives from the government. You don't want to be the one to cause a fine of that amount.

Family members living in the same house as the member may attend as guests.

Intake of new members is suspended until the lock-down is lifted.

Dec. 2020 Covid Lockdown.

2020/2021 Renewal Season Begins on Sept. 1

Renewals for the 2020/2021 season will begin starting Sept. 1 and run until March 1st.

There is a change to how we will renew this year, basically If you are renewing by credit card, then you will renew the same as you did last year, but if you are renewing with EMT or Cheque then there is a slightly changed procedure. (No Code this year)

COVID-19 - Update

EOSC has returned to normal operations for members.

Updated Guest Policy.

Guests are still not allowed on the rifle range. Distancing can not be maintained between shooting positions.

It's preferred your guests are family only (to maintain a "social circle") but if you insist on bringing others as guests, because we require guests have direct (contact) supervision (meaning distancing can not be upheld), a mask is required.

The clubs hours, gate lock and self sign in are all back to normal.

With all the quiet reclassification of firearms going on by the RCMP, we thought members should know that they can check on the status of their firearms, please keep in mind that this list is about 2 weeks behind the Live version of the FRT, but it is better then nothing. https://www.armalytics.ca/

EOSC is Re Open starting on the 19th.

Below is the E-mail from the Land owner with the new procedures.

A registration booth has been installed at the EOSC entrance.

Each member will register with the attendant and provide his/her name, membership number and shooting range where they will shoot.

Inside the grounds of the EOSC, members will practice social distancing and keep 6ft apart. This is everyone’s responsibility.

In order to respect social distancing rules, the EOSC cannot safely accommodate more than 34 members/shooters at any one time. Therefore, members may need to wait outside the Club before being able to enter the grounds.

In order to give everyone a fair chance to come and shoot, we ask that you limit your visit to the EOSC to TWO hours.

Guests will NOT be permitted at the moment.

Each range has been equipped with hand sanitizer, disinfectant and paper towels to maintain firing stations (tables and chairs) sanitized. Members are expected to sanitize stations before their shooting session.

We ask that members who have recently travelled outside the country or who are displaying any signs of the virus, to please remain at home

That’s it for now! We realize that this new reality will take some getting used to but with everyone’s cooperation we should have a good summer.

Looks like we didn't make the GVMNT's list of businesses that can stay open, As of right now the ranges are currently closed, a potential $500,000.00 fine for staying open isn't worth it. Check your e-mail for more details.

How to Renew

The process of renewing has changed slightly, Starting on Sep. 1st, you can renew using the following method.

1) Log in to your account at EOSC.CA
(If you have not used your account since the website changed, you will probably need to reset your password before you can log in. There is a link on the websites login page that will help with this.)

2) Once Logged in to the website, You can click on your name in the upper right hand corner of the screen.

3) in your profile screen under the "Membership details" section, you will see a button that says "Renew to 1 Dec 2020" Click this button to begin the renewal process.

4) Verify your profile information on the renewal form.

5) If you are paying by EMT or Check, it is important that you enter EMT in the Discount Code section.

6) If Paying by Credit card Skip the discount code section and just click on the "Update and Next" link

7) On the Review and Confirm screen, you will need to select your option for payment.

Changes to Membership Fees

Single Membership = $311.20 if paying by EMT/Check or $320.85 for Credit card

Family Membership = $331.20 if paying by EMT/Check or $341.47 for Credit card

Changes to Payment Options

Check, EMT, VISA and MasterCard. PayPal is no longer an option.

Renewal Window

the renewal window (The time we will accept renewals for the 2019/2020 member year) will be from Sep 1, 2019 until March 1, 2020.

Renewals will not be accepted after March 1st, 2020.

Club Administrative System Changes

Over the next few months the club will be undergoing some major changes in our administrative systems,. Some of these systems are listed below.

Member Management Software (Database) is being replaced
Club file storage structure is being replaced
Current WordPress website is being replaced.
Current Web forums are being replaced
News Letter System is being replaced
Club E-mail System is being Replaced
Current Events Calendar and Event booking system is to be replaced
PayPal is to be replaced as a payment option for Credit cards.

Our last major refresh of this level was in 2010. it’s been almost 10 years, it’s about time to move some things forward.

You will likely get an e-mail at some point telling you your “membership has been made active”. the URL of the website in question is currently located at https://easternontarioshootingclub33.wildapricot.org This is a real address and is the future home of EOSC.CA, but until the content is finished the URL will not be moved.

Some of the things that these changes will cause to happen are;

A Reset of the club forum Content
A re-issue of new member numbers to all Member numbers
New member card Format
New Member cards will be issued at the 2019/2020 renewal. (Your current cards, Numbers & Stickers are fine)
New Event Calendar & Event registry System
New way for new member courses to be sold
Better Renewal Handling system
New online Payment System (PayPal has changed their fees and terms of service since we started with them)
